UTICA, NY (2-13-12)- Freshman Lauren DeLude of the Utica College track and field team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
DeLude, a Herkimer native, placed second in the 60-meter dash and fourth in the long jump at the Cornell Relays, Saturday. She improved her 60-meter dash time to 7.89 and her long jump to 5.48 meters. DeLude also helped the 4x400 relay team to a second place finish with a time of 4:07.65.
DeLude has had a very impressive season so far. She has been named the Empire 8 Conference athlete of the week three times. She also ranks third in the conference in the 60-meter dash, second in the 200-meter dash (26.34), and second in the long jump (5.48).
The Pioneers return to action Saturday as they travel to Ithaca, NY for a meet at Cornell University. The events kick off at 10 a.m.
