UTICA, NY (3/5/2012)- Junior transfer Trent Thomas of the Utica College men’s lacrosse team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week after posting a six point performance in his NCAA Division III debut on Friday. 

Thomas netted four goals and added two assists to help lift the Pioneers’ to a convincing 18-1 victory in their season-opener against local rival SUNYIT at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium on Friday. 

Thomas, a transfer from Herkimer County Community College, netted 33 goals and totaled 14 assists for the Generals last Spring. 

Utica returns to action on Saturday when the Pioneers host Cazenovia College for a non conference contest at 1 p.m.
