Utica, NY (4-16-12) – Freshman Ali Templin, of the Utica College water polo team, was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday.
Temlpin recorded 72 saves over three days as she led the Pioneers to a 2-3 weekend at the UC Pool. She stopped 14 shots in a 18-2 loss on Friday night against Grove City.
On Saturday, the freshman net minder registered 25 saves in two games. She totaled 12 in a 10-6 win over Chatham University and 13 in a 16-6 loss to
Washington and Jefferson College
On Sunday, she collected 11 stops against Connecticut College and followed up with a 22 save performance as UC beat Penn State Behrend, 11-5.
The Sinking Springs native has 173 saves on the season will guiding the Pioneers to a 4-11 overall record. UC returns to the pool Saturday as they head to Grove City, PA for the CWPA DIII Eastern Championships.
