Utica, NY (4-16-12) – Junior Mallory Ingalls, of the Utica College softball team, was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday.
Ingalls batted .536 this past week as she led the Pioneers to a 5-3 record. The Oriskany, NY native went 15-for-28 with nine RBI, seven runs scored and two homeruns. She also registered team high’s in slugging (.786%) and on base percentage (.552%).
She started off her week going 4-for-7 in a two game sweep against Hamilton on Tuesday before following up with a career-day on Wednesday against Oswego. On Wednesday, she went 6-for-7 with eight RBI, four runs and two homeruns, including a grand slam in game two.
Over the weekend, she totaled five hits in four games as UC went 1-3 against Nazareth and St. John Fisher College’s in Rochester, NY.
While starting all 31 games this season, Ingalls is second in hits (34), RBI (19), homeruns (four), at bats (104) while fourth in batting average (.324). The Pioneers are 19-12 overall this while posting a 2-6 record in the Empire 8 Conference and return to action Wednesday as they host University of Rochester.
