Utica University Athletics

Utica, NY (4/30/12)- Junior Trent Thomas of the Utica College men’s lacrosse team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week, Monday. 

The Akwesasne, Ontario native netted eight goals and six assists as UC went 1-2 last week.  His biggest game was a six-goal performance in a 11-12 loss to local rival Hamilton College on Wednesday. 

Thomas finished the season ranked second on the team with 55 points and 30 goals.  He also had a team-best 25 assists in 16 games played.

The Pioneers finished with an overall record of 8-8 and a 3-4 mark in the Empire 8 Conference.  It was the program’s best finish since 2009, and just the second time since 2006 with a record of at least .500
