Utica, NY (5-7-12) – Freshman Mi’chael White, of the Utica College men’s track and field team, was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week Monday.

White, a sprinter and jumps specialist, was victorious in the triple jump while placing fourth and fifth in his other events, respectively.  He recorded a leap of 13.62 meters in the triple jump, 6.67 meters in the long jump and a time of 50.67 in the 400 meter dash.

The Hopewell Junction native burst on the scene at the E8 Championships on Jan. 28 as he was named Male Athlete of the Meet tallying a win in the triple jump and a second place finish in the long jump.

Throughout his first-year campaign, White has registered two wins, two second place and two third place finishes.

UC returns to action Saturday as its heads to Oneonta, NY for the Oneonta State May Meet.  The events will be held at the All College Field and Track and are scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
