Utica, NY (10/8/12)- Senior Jeremy Meier of the Utica College football team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week, Monday.
Meier, from nearby Rome, NY, caught a school record four touchdown passes, including three in the fourth quarter as the Pioneers came from behind to defeat host Buffalo State, 51-44 on Saturday. Meier’s final catch, a touchdown, with just 13 seconds left on the clock sealed the UC victory.
On the season, Meier has a team-high 660 receiving yards and eight TDs. He is also averaging 16.10 yards per catch.
The Pioneers are currently 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Empire 8. They return to action Saturday as they host Frostburg State as part of the UC homecoming festivities. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
