Utica, NY (1-7-13) – Freshman Donny Olivieri, of the nationally-ranked No. 8/8 Utica College men’s hockey team, was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week Monday for his performance on the ice over the weekend.

Olivieri tallied seven points as he led the Pioneers to a perfect 2-0 at home including a 6-0 romping of nationally-ranked No. 2 Owsego State on Saturday night. The Philadelphia, PA native racked up four dishes against Oswego after a three-point night on Friday where he added one goal and two assists. On the season, he now has 11 points on two goals and nine assists.

UC will now hit the road for a four game road trip starting with Cortland State on Jan. 11th at 7 p.m.  The Pioneers will return from the four game road trip to the friendly confines of the Utica Memorial Auditorium on Jan. 25th when they take on Neumann University.  Neumann knocked off nationally-ranked No. 1 Norwich University 5-3 on Saturday night.
