Utica, NY (3/25/13)- Freshman goalie Trey Adams of the Utica College men’s Lacrosse team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week Monday after an impressive 15 saves that did not go unnoticed despite the Pioneers' 7-6 loss to SUNY Potsdam.

Adams, in just only four career games as a Pioneer, is showing that he will be a solid player for UC for years to come.  The freshmen goalie has helped UC decrease goals scored against their defense through the first 5 games of the season by 18. At this point last year the Pioneers had already given up 46 goals on the season to only 28 so far this year.

Adams is currently third in the Empire 8 Conference in goals against average (6.92) and third in the conference with a save percentage of 58%.

The Pioneers hold a 3-2 record with two of those wins coming with Adams in front of the net.  UC is back out on the field on Mar.27 as it travels to Rochester, NY to take on Nazareth College in the Pioneers’ first conference game of the season. Opening face-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
