Utica, NY (5/6/13) - Senior shortstop Chris Podlucky of Utica College baseball team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for his efforts on the diamond this past week.
Podluckly went 9-for-19 this past week, good enough for a .473 mark, as he guided UC to a 2-4 overall tecord. He also added four RBI’s and four runs scored over those six contests. The senior everyday shortstop managed a new record as he utilized every position in the field Saturday as Utica beat John Jay, 8-4, on Senior Day.
On the season, he currently leads the team in runs scored (18) and walks (13), second in hits (26), third in doubles (five) and second in average (.274) with a minimum of 50+ at bats.
The Pioneers, 6-24 overall, wrap up their 2013 campaign Wednesday when they travel to Oswego to take on Oswego State University. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 3 p.m.
