Utica University Athletics

Utica, NY (10/14/13)- Junior Louise Steele-Norton of the Utica College field hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.

With two goals last week, Steele-Norton became the most prolific scorer in program history as she surpassed 2006 graduate, Shannon Rohacek’s record of 110 career points.  Steele-Norton now has 114 points in 50 career games.  She also holds the College’s all-time goal scoring record with 54.  She is currently tied for first in the Empire 8 Conference with 12 goals, and is third in points (27). 

The Pioneers are 10-3 overall and 4-1 in the Empire 8 Conference.    They have outscored Empire 8 opponents 22-5 through five conference games this season.  UC returns to action Saturday as it travels to Elmira for an E8 match up.  Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
