Utica, NY (February 10, 2014) - Luc Boby of the nationally-ranked Utica College men’s hockey team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week on Monday.
The freshman forward netted three goals, including two game-winners, to help the Pioneers defeat visiting Neumann twice in ECAC West Hockey action Friday and Saturday. Boby scored the game-winner 5:08 into the third period as the Pioneers topped the Knights 3-1 on Friday night. On Saturday night, with the Pioneers trailing 2-1, he netted two consecutive goals in a span of 11:01 to guide UC to the come from behind victory. His second goal of the evening was the game-winner and it came 6:29 into the third period.
Boby is now tied for the team-lead with three game-winners this season. Boby has four goals in his last three games to help spark the Pioneers to three straight conference victories. On the season, he has 13 points (six goals, seven assists).
The Pioneers return to the ice Friday, Feb. 14th against Nazareth College at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. It is Oneida County Stop DWI Night at the Aud and the contest will be radio broadcast on 99.1 FM and 90.7 FM. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
