The Alaska Aces, of the ECHL, and head coach Rob Murray announced that the team has agreed to terms with rookie defenseman Mike Slowikowski (Ewing, NJ/N.J. Hitmen (EJHL)).

Slowikowski, 25, suited up in 102 games for Utica College in his career and had 52 points (15g-27a) and 65 penalty minutes. He skated in 25 games last season as a senior with five assists while helping the Pioneers rank 18th in the nation with a 2.41 goals per game average.

The 6-foot-6, 231 pound defenseman was named an ECAC West All-Conference honoree (honorable mention) for his last three seasons and led Pioneers defensemen in goals (7) as a 2012-13 junior. That season he helped guide Utica to the NCAA Tournament and the duo helped produce back-to-back regular season conference titles in their last two seasons
