Utica, NY (10/6/14) – Junior goalie Kells Casey of the Utica College field hockey team was named to the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday, for her performance last week.
 
Casey set a new program record for wins in a career, after an 8-2 victory against Hamilton College (10/1/14). Casey added onto that with a 5-1 win over Nazareth College (10/4/14). In the two games she totaled six saves and has helped the team to a seven game win streak.  Casey now has 35 career victories.
 
Casey has an 8-1 record and 34 saves on the season. She ranks second in the Empire 8 with a1.895 goals against average. Casey has helped the Pioneers to three shutout victories.
 
UC returns to action for game two of a three game road trip on Wednesday when the Pioneers travel to The College at Brockport to take on the Golden Eagles at 4 p.m.
