UTICA, NY- Utica College jumper Sarah Wiatr was named the Utica College Female Athlete of the Week and the Empire 8 Conference Field Athlete of the Week after her team-leading performance Thursday at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational.

She began the season a victory in the triple jump, gathering 10 team points, after a leap of 11.51 meters. Her jump of 11.51 meters currently ranks eighth nationally. Wiatr also took fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.26 meters as she added five more points for the Utica women. Her distance of 5.26 meters in the long jump currently ranks 32^nd nationally.

Her performance helped the Pioneers to 31 team points and a ninth-place finish at the event.

The Pioneers will compete next at Moravian College on Saturday, April 11. The events are set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
