UTICA, NY- Utica College junior wide receiver Jerred Beniquez has been named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for his performance against St. John Fisher on Saturday.

Beniquez had six receptions for 73 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown. He also had one carry that went for a rushing touchdown, and six returns for 116 yards in the 32-27 loss to Fisher.

Beniquez now leads the Empire 8 Conference in catches with 49. He is also seventh in the conference with 475 receiving yards, eighth in yards per game with 67.9, and he is also averaging seven receptions per game, which is good for second in the conference. Beniquez is also second in the conference in kick return yards with 477 total.

The Pioneers will be back in action on Saturday for a home game against Buffalo State. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.Â
