UTICA, NY – Senior forward Darcy Hier (Centennial, CO / Colorado Selects) of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 13th. Hier led the Pioneers to a 2-1 record over the course of three games this past week, including two victories over conference foe Chatham University. The team’s only loss came in overtime against local rival, Hamilton.

Hier had a total of six points over the week, including four goals. On senior night, she posted a hat-trick with an assist in Utica’s 9-1 victory on Sunday.
 
Hier now has a team-leading 22 assists this year and is tied for second in the country with an average of one assist per contest. She also leads the team in points with 30.

Utica improved to 12-10 overall and evened its record at 8-8 in conference play. The Pioneers return to the ice on Thursday when they travel to Amherst College for a non- conference game at 7 p.m. UC will then travel to Plattsburgh on Saturday for game one of a two game conference set against the Cardinals.
