UTICA, NY – Junior Rebecca Plunkett of the women’s lacrosse team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after her performance against SUNY Potsdam on Saturday.

Plunkett scored the game-winning goal with nine seconds remaining in the first overtime period to lift the Pioneers over the Bears 8-7. She finished the game with five goals on 11 shots and added one ground ball.  Plunkett currently leads the team with 15 goals and 16 points. 

The Pioneers have three games this week starting Tuesday at home against Oswego State at 4 p.m.  Utica will then travel to Morrisville State on Wednesday and will finish the week at home in their first conference game of the season against Elmira College. Game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Gaetano Stadium.
