UTICA, NY – Utica College baseball player Joshua Webb was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week after pitching a complete game against Houghton College this past Saturday.
The Pioneers earned their first win of the season and first conference win behind the arm of Webb. He pitched all seven innings, gave up four hits, and had a season-high 12 strikeouts in the victory. On the season, Webb has 19 strikeouts in 13.2 innings pitched so far, and he has compiled an ERA of 2.63.
The Pioneers are 1-10 on the season and currently hold a 1-2 conference record. UC will travel to Hoboken, New Jersey on Wednesday for a two game series against Stevens Institute of Technology (12 p.m.). Utica will then have its home opener on Saturday against Elmira College (1 p.m.)
