UTICA, NY- Senior Courtney Wheeler of the Utica College women’s lacrosse team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
Wheeler totaled nine points in a pair of wins for the Pioneers over the weekend. On Saturday, she matched her career-high of six points (four goals, two assists) to help lead UC to a 15-4 win over Houghton. She followed that up with two goals and one assist in Utica’s 17-7 win against Alfred on Sunday. On the season, she is tied for first on the team with 38 points (31 goals, seven assists).
Utica is currently 8-5 on the year and 3-2 in the Empire 8 Conference. The Pioneers return to action Wednesday as they host Hartwick College. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
