UTICA, NY- Utica College sophomore women’s hockey player Elizabeth Dohner was named the Utica College female athlete of the week for her performance against No. 4/5 Elmira College over the weekend.
            Dohner tallied three goals on six shots for the Pioneers on the weekend. She was especially important in the 2-2 tie on Saturday where she scored both goals for the team. Dohner scored her second goal just over halfway through the third period as she took a feed from Gabrielle Schnepp and snuck the puck in between the legs of Elmira goalie Kelsey Crawford.
            On the season, Dohner has 12 points with six goals and six assists. She has already surpassed last year’s totals on the season where she made appearances in 20 games for the team. Last year, Dohner tallied five points on the year as she scored three goals and had two assists. Of her three goals she scored, two of them were game-winners
            The team returns to the ice this weekend for two ECAC West home conference games against Chatham University. Puck drop for both games is 3 p.m. as the team looks to improve on their  9-8-1 record.
