UTICA, NY- Senior forward Gabrielle Schnepp of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
Schnepp totaled four points on two goals and two assists in the Pioneers’ two victories over Chatham University in ECAC West play last weekend. On Friday, she scored the game-winner and assisted on the opening goal of the contest in a 3-1 win. On Saturday, Schnepp gave the Pioneers the lead with just over five minutes remaining in the second as she put in a rebound for her fourth of the year. She also tallied an assist as Utica downed the Cougars 3-2.
On the season, Schnepp leads the team with 21 points on four goals and 17 assists. She has tallied seven points (two goals, five assists) in the last four games. For her career, she needs one more assist to tie former All-American Megan Myers for third on the College’s all-time list. Schnepp currently has 68 assists for her career. She also needs just three points to move into a tie for fourth place all-time in career points (111).
UC returns to action this weekend for two ECAC West games at Neumann University. Friday puck drop is 7 p.m. while Saturday is 2 p.m.
