UTICA, NY- Freshman forward Jarrod Fitzpatrick of the Utica College men’s hockey team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for his contributions in a pair of ECAC West wins last weekend.
            Fitzpatrick scored two goals and added one assist on the weekend. On Friday, he netted the game’s opening goal, helping the Pioneers earn a 2-1 overtime victory against Elmira College.  On Saturday, he scored the game-tying goal in the second period and assisted on the game-winner as the Pioneers snapped nationally-ranked No. 3/5 Hobart College’s 12-game unbeaten streak to remain atop the conference standings. 
    In 11 conference games this season he is averaging 1.09 points per game, which ranks third in the ECAC West. Fitzpatrick has 15 points on the season with nine goals and six assists. He has recorded at least one point in four out of the last six games.
    UC returns to the ice this weekend to take on Stevenson University and Lebanon Valley College in conference action.  Friday’s game will be at 7 p.m. against Stevenson, while Saturday’s face off is scheduled for 5 p.m. at LVC.
