UTICA, NY- Senior running back Nicodemus Gambill of the Utica College football team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week, Monday.
 
Gambill sparked the Pioneer offense with a career-high 161 yards rushing on just 16 carries and he also added two rushing touchdowns of 59 and 39 yards.  His first touchdown of 59 yards gave Utica a 13-0 lead with just 27 seconds left in the first half of play. His second rushing touchdown of the day gave Utica a 20-0 lead in the third quarter.  Gambill, an All-American sprinter on the track & field team, averaged 10.1 yards per carry on the afternoon.
 
The Pioneers (1-0) return to action on Saturday as they travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the Catholic University of America.  Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
