Utica, NY – Malcolm Stowe, senior captain of the UC football team, has been chosen as the UC Male Athlete of the week for his great play against Hartwick over the weekend.
In the team’s 75-14 road victory over Hartwick, Stowe led the way with a total of 228 rushing yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. His performance puts him at 1,011 yards rushing for the year, and 1,899 yards for his career. Malcolm is the first running back in school-history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season and is now the program’s all-time leading rusher for a career.
His 228 yards against the Hawks is third most all-time for a single game, and his four touchdowns is tied for second in most rushing TD’s in a single game. With 12 rushing touchdowns for his career, Stowe is now seventh all-time in career rushing scores.
The win makes UC 6-4 on the season, as the team has earned a bid into an ECAC Bowl Game this upcoming weekend. The Pioneers will head to Cornell University to take on Ithaca College on Saturday.
