Utica, NY – Goaltender Gianluca Baggetta of the Utica College men’s hockey team has been chosen as a UC Co-Male Athlete of the Week after getting it done between the pipes this past weekend.
Baggetta helped secure wins over Nazareth and Cortland, tallying a total of 48 saves and recording back-to-back shutouts. He made 24 saves in each contest as UC defeated Nazareth, 5-0, and Cortland, 3-0. Gianluca now has three shutouts on the year, while the Pioneers have won three straight.
UC will be back on its home ice for double the action this weekend, as the team will host Elmira on Friday and Lebanon Valley on Saturday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. for both games.
