Utica, NY – Hali Vandermeulen of the Utica College women’s lacrosse team has been named UC Co-Female Athlete of the Week for her consistency in net for the Pioneers last week.
Utica went 3-0 last week, improving to 7-1 on the season which marks the best start in program history. Vandermeulen made a total of 37 saves, reaching double-digit stops in all three contests. She held opposing teams to just seven goals each game, keeping all opponents to single digits. In Sunday’s matchup with Stevens, Hali made 15 saves to secure UC its first ever program win over the Ducks.
The Pioneers are back in action on Wednesday, as they hit the road for an Empire 8 contest with Sage. Game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
