Utica, NY - Senior forward Mikayla Blumestock of the Utica College women’s soccer team has been named UC Female Athlete of the Week. This marks the third women’s soccer player to earn this honor in 2019, as junior midfielder Kierra Caissey and senior goalkeeper Allison Wagner took home this award earlier in the season.

Blumenstock powered the Pioneers to a 7-2 overall record by scoring the only two goals of the game against Sage on Saturday afternoon, making it her fifth-straight game with at least one goal. The two-year starter leads the team with 21 points on 10 goals and one assist this season. Blumenstock is on the brink of her season-high in goals and points, as she finished 2018 with 12 goals and 27 overall points.

The Pioneers have this week off, and they return on Saturday to host the Hartwick College Hawks at 12 noon.
