Utica, NY - Utica College men's cross country runner Kyle Engelhart has been named the Uc Male Athlete of the Week for his performance this past weekend.

Engelhart was the Pioneers' top finisher in the men's five kilometer race at the Hamilton College Short Course Tune-Up on Saturday. He placed seventh overall and covered the 5,000 meters in 16:38.8 while averaging a 5:21 mile. 

The junior also was named the Empire 8 Conference Men's Runner of the Week for this performance as well. The announcement was made on Monday by the conference offices in Rochester. The conference honor is the first of his collegiate career.

He has ranked among the top finishers for the Pioneers all season long, and will be counted on greatly this weekend as the Pioneers compete in the Empire 8 Championships on Saturday in Rochester.
