Utica, NY - Junior guard Kobe Lufkin of the Utica College men's basketball team has been named UC Male Athlete of the Week for his impressive outing on Friday night against Cazenovia College.
This was the home-opener for UC men's basketball, and the team did not disappoint. Lufkin led the charge all night, posting a game-high 21 points, a mark he shared with senior forward Hunter Remley. The bulk of Lufkin's scoring came from behind the arc, as he finished the night shooting 5 of 7 from 3-point land. He also added four rebounds in the process.
The Pioneers went on to win by a convincing score of 115-81 to advance to 2-1 on the season. Their next matchup comes against cross-town rival SUNY Poly, which is slated for a 4 p.m. tip off Tuesday afternoon.
