Utica, NY - Sopohmore Jackson Sorbello of the Utica College men's swim & dive team has been named UC Male Athlete of the Week for his stellar outing against Cazenovia on Friday night.

The Utica College men's and women's swim & dive team topped the Wildcats in convincing fashion on the road. The men's team took the dual meet 140-15 and the women's team did the same with a 96-65 victory.

Sorbello led the way on the men's side with three first place finishes in the 100 yard IM (1:02.80), 100 yard butterfly (1:06.32) and 100 yard backstroke (1:07.93). Sean Neary (Marlborough, CT/Montana State) was the only other Pioneer to finish first in multiple events, including the 50 (25.24) and 100 yard (59.70) freestyle.

The Utica College swim & dive team will return to action Friday, January 17 at 6 p.m on the road against Alfred University.
