Utica, NY - Freshman Dante Zapata of the Utica College men's hockey team has been named UC Male Athlete of the Week for his outstanding play in the UCHC championship series against Wilkes.

Zapata started the series with a two-goal outing in a 4-0 game one victory. He also added the first goal of game two en route to a conference-clinching 6-2 win on Saturday night. These goals bumped Zapata up to 11 total this season. Coupled with his 14 assists, Zapata now has the sixth-most points on the team with 24.

The Pioneers finished 25-2-2 overall this season, and they will find out their matchup in the NCAA selection show Monday morning.
