Utica, N.Y. (9/5/2011) – Junior quarterback Andrew Benkwitt was named the Utica College Male Athlete of the Week after completing 25-of-32 passes for 233 yards, to go along with three touchdowns, in the Pioneers’ 45-38 season-opening victory over St. Lawrence University Saturday.
Benkwitt started his junior season on the right foot and at one point he guided the Pioneers’ offensive unit to six consecutive touchdowns. In the first half alone he helped UC compile five touchdowns, 335 yards of total offense and a 26-point lead over the reigning Liberty League Conference Champions.
