Sophomore wide receiver Jamie Murphy has been named Utica College’s Male Athlete of the Week. 

Murphy, originally from Canadaigua, NY, had a game-high eight receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns to help lead UC to a thrilling 28-27 comeback win over visiting Union College Saturday. 

On the season, Murphy is averaging 13.9 yards per catch and has a team-high
14 receptions for 194 yards in just two games so far.  He ranks second in the conference in average yards per game.

Murphy and the rest of the Pioneers (2-0) look to continue their winning ways Saturday as they travel to Maryland to take on new league opponent Frostburg State University.  Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
