Christopher Podlucky

Chris Podlucky was hired in the summer of 2013 as the assistant men’s baseball coach and is entering his third season.  He assists Head Coach Joe Milazzo with all facets of the program including scouting, recruiting, practice and game preparation along with day-to-day operations in the office.

Podlucky recently help guide the Pioneers to one of their best seasons in over 23 years this past season with an overall record of 20-16-1 marking the first 20 win season in over two decades.  He guided eight Pioneers to Empire 8 All-Conference status and four-year catcher Thomas Dinnen to his second straight All-Conference selection.  Dinnen was also named to the inaugural 2015 Empire 8 All-Tournament Team after batting .500 over the three games going 6-for-12 and upping his season average from .316 to .333 to close out his college career. He hit safely in nine of his last ten games including six multi-hit outings while batting .461.

Podlucky is a 2013 graduate of Utica College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and was a Deans List honoree in 2012 and 2013. 

He was a four year member of the baseball team serving as captain in 2011 and 2012.  In 2010, Chris earned Sportsman of the Year as a freshman before making back-to-back appearances on the Empire 8 All-Conference Second-Team in 2011 and 2012. 

Podlucky wrapped up his senior campaign leading the team in runs (18) and walks (14), while second in at bats (102), hits (27), on base percentage (.365) and average (.270 min 50 AB). 

During his tenure at UC, he played in 136-of-140 games and finished with a career.270 batting average.  In his last three seasons, the everyday shortstop started in 107-of-108 games for the Pioneers.

Originally from Grand Island, NY, Chris currently resides in Utica and is studying for his Master’s degree here at UC.
