Sokol Earns CCM All-American Recognition

Utica College senior men's ice hockey standout Jimmy Sokol (Webberville, MI) was recently named an All-East Second-Team CCM All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).

Sokol, a first-time All-American, was also named the 2004-05 ECAC West Player of the Year and selected to the All-ECAC West First Team. The 5-foot-9, 176-pound forward generated a team-high 30 points on 13 goals and 17 assists for the season and led the 2004-05 Pioneers to an ECAC West conference regular-season title.

Sokol concluded his collegiate career as the Utica College men's ice hockey program's all-time point leader (129 points), goal leader (58 goals), and assist leader (71 assists).

A four-year member of the Pioneer ice hockey team, Sokol recently made his professional debut with the Fort Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL).

The Pioneers, who fell to Manhattanville College in the ECAC West Finals, finished the 2004-05 season with a program-best 16-5-6 overall record and a 9-1-2 record against conference competitors.

The CCM All-American ice hockey teams are sponsored by CCM, an international leader in hockey equipment, and chosen by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association.
