The Utica College field hockey team fell in overtime to RPI 3-2 Wednesday night in non-conference action at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
RPI won the game on a goal just three minutes into the first overtime period when sophomore Kristiina Baker (Nashoba Regional/Boston, MA) scored to end the game. Baker also added a goal earlier in the game and assisted on the other RPI goal scored by sophomore Sara Stylinski (Southington/Southington, CT).
Sophomore Katie Kutas (New York Mills/New York Mills) and junior Jenna Morton (New York Mills/New Hartford) scored the goals for the Pioneers. Senior Amanda Ianello (VVS/Verona) had the assist on Kutas' goal, which was her team-high 14th goal of the season. Kutas currently ranks 13th nationally in goals scored.
The Pioneers' record now stands at 8-4 overall. They will return to action Friday, October 13th at 4:00 p.m. when they travel to Oneonta State.
