UTICA, NY – The Utica College volleyball team was defeated by host Oswego State (18-10 overall) in non-conference action Wednesday night. They played only three games with scores of 17-30, 13-30, and 21-30. This was another tough loss to the UC team, bringing their record to 7-17 on the year.

    Karen Crisanti (Geneva, NY/Geneva) tallied four kills to lead the Pioneers and Sarah Saucier (Gouverneur, NY/Gouverneur) lead in assists with three. Christina Curri (Frankfort, NY/New Hartford) also had a good night with eight digs for the Pioneers.

    The Utica College volleyball team will play four games in the Empire 8 Crossover Tournament this weekend at Elmira College. They will take on RIT (18-10) and Alfred (3-16) Saturday at 2:15 and 6:45 pm. The Pioneers will take on Nazareth (11-17) and St. John Fisher (6-16) Sunday at 10:00 and 2:30 pm. The team with the best record after all four games will be crowned the Crossover Tournament champion.
