UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's volleyball team defeated host SUNYIT 3-2 (30-24, 28-30, 30-21, 27-30, 15-13) on Monday night.
Freshman outside hitter
Melissa Austin (Castorland, NY/Beaver River) had 16 kills, 15 digs and served an ace for the pioneers. Junior
Karen Crisanti (Geneva, NY/Geneva) stepped up contributed 27 digs, 12 kills, two aces and two blocks on the night. Freshman
Brielle Swerdlin (Chester, NJ/West Morris Mendham) had 19 assists, 13 digs, nine kills and an ace.
The UC women's volleyball team improves their record to 6-14 overall. The Pioneers travel Wednesday to Hartwick in Empire 8 conference action at 7 pm.
