UC FIELD HOCKEY PLACES THREE ON THE NFHCA ALL-REGION TEAMS

The Utica College women's field hockey team placed three athletes on the 2006 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) North Atlantic Region team released Monday.

Katie Kutas (New York Mills/New York Mills) and Jen King (Chesapeake/ Pasedena, MD) earned first team honors, while Carla Behe (Little Falls/Little Falls) brought home second team accolades.

Kutas, a sophomore forward, was recently named the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year and led the conference in the scoring with 40 points (18 goals, four assists) this season. She currently ranks second on the college's all-time single season scoring list.

King, a senior defender, earned Empire 8 All-Conference Second team status this past season after guiding UC to a 2.40 goals against average. She is a three-time All-Conference selection and played in 68 career games as a Pioneer.

Behe earned E8 All-Conference honors last week for the fourth consecutive year. She tallied 19 points on five goals and nine assists this past season. The former All-American ranks second on the Pioneers all-time scoring list with 85 career points (23 goals, 39 assists) in 69 games played.

The Pioneers finished the season 10-7 overall and shared the regular season Empire 8 Conference crown with Ithaca College for the first time in program-history.  UC loses five seniors to graduation in May.
