The Utica College women's field hockey team placed three athletes on the 2006 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) North Atlantic Region team released Monday.
Katie Kutas (New York Mills/New York Mills) and
Jen King (Chesapeake/ Pasedena, MD) earned first team honors, while
Carla Behe (Little Falls/Little Falls) brought home second team accolades.
Kutas, a sophomore forward, was recently named the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year and led the conference in the scoring with 40 points (18 goals, four assists) this season. She currently ranks second on the college's all-time single season scoring list.
King, a senior defender, earned Empire 8 All-Conference Second team status this past season after guiding UC to a 2.40 goals against average. She is a three-time All-Conference selection and played in 68 career games as a Pioneer.
Behe earned E8 All-Conference honors last week for the fourth consecutive year. She tallied 19 points on five goals and nine assists this past season. The former All-American ranks second on the Pioneers all-time scoring list with 85 career points (23 goals, 39 assists) in 69 games played.
The Pioneers finished the season 10-7 overall and shared the regular season Empire 8 Conference crown with Ithaca College for the first time in program-history. UC loses five seniors to graduation in May.
