UC Women's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight

UTICA, NY – Laura Keating () (Whitesboro, NY) tallied a career-high five goals as the Utica College women's lacrosse team defeated visiting Cazenovia College 20-3 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon.

Keating tallied her first two goals just 1:04 into the first half and the Pioneers never looked back out scoring the Wildcats 13-1 in the first half.

Liz Strodel () (Syracuse, NY) tallied three goals and one assist, while Lauren Schreiner () (Cortland, NY) added three goals of her own.

Andrea Olney () (Westernville, NY) and Christine Ahearn () (Patchogue, NY) each had two goals for the Pioneers, while Casey Pelletier () (Middletown, CT), Jackie Vicencio () (Miller Place, NY), and Anna Balfoort () (Schenectady, NY) each record one goal.

Cali Parrotta (Clay, NY) got the Wildcats on the board ten minutes into the first half on an assist from Alison Bonanni (Ithaca, NY), who capped the evening with two assists.

Alexandra Huban (New Woodstock, NY) and Rachel Simone (Syracuse, NY) each scored one goal for Cazenovia.

Dani Andrew (Westwood, MA), who was recently named the Empire 8 Conference Goalie of the Week, tallied three saves in 60:00 minutes of work, while Amanda Kostran (Depew, NY), who faced 42 shots on the evening, tallied 18 saves.

Utica (3-2) will return to action next Friday, April 7 against visiting St. John Fisher College at 4 p.m. in the Empire 8 Conference opener for the Pioneers. Cazenovia (0-3) will return to action against visiting Chestnut Hill College at 6 p.m. at Chittenango High School.
