UTICA, NY –
Liz Strodel (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) tallied a career-high seven goals as the Utica College women's lacrosse team defeated Rochester Institute of Technology 13-7 Saturday afternoon in Empire 8 Conference action at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
Strodel scored the first four goals of the game in just under three minutes and added her fifth goal of the half at 14:07.
Jennifer Munisteri (Merrick, NY/St. Dominic) scored the Pioneers final goal of the half and Utica went into the first intermission with a 6-2 lead.
Utica out scored R.I.T. 7-5 in the second half to secure the victory.
Munisteri tallied two goals on the day while
Casey Pelletier (Middletown, CT/Mercy),
Lauren Schreiner (Cortland, NY/Cortland),
Andrea Olney (Westernville, NY), and
Jackie Vicencio (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) each tallied one goal.
Schreiner and Pelletier each tallied one assist, while reigning Empire 8 Goalie of the Week
Danielle Andrew (Westwood, MA/Westwood) tallied seven saves in her sixth win of the year.
Utica (6-3, 2-1) will return to action against visiting Clarkson University Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
