UTICA, NY- Amanda Butler of the Utica College softball team was recently named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Northeast Region Second Team Tuesday after guiding the Pioneers to a second place finish in the conference this season and a program-best 29-9 overall record.
Butler, who was recently named to the Empire 8 All-Conference Second Team, batted a team-high .418, with 46 hits, 28 RBI, seven doubles, and two home runs. Butler tallied a team-high .444 on base percentage and a .555 slugging percentage, while collecting a .940 fielding percentage.
The Pioneers knocked Fisher and Alfred out of the double elimination conference tournament in their first-ever appearance in the tournament before falling to Ithaca College in the finals last weekend.
Utica will take on No. 3 University of Rochester 12 p.m. Saturday right after No. 1 Fisher takes on No. 4 D'Youville at 10 a.m in the ECAC Upstate Championships. All games will be held at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY.
