UC MEN'S HOCKEY PLACES THREE ON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

UTICA, NY – Adam Dekker (Soo Indians (NAHL)/Muskegon, MI), Dave Werner (Capital District Selects (EJHL)/Milwaukee, WI) and Mike Lane (Green Mountain Glades (EJHL)/West Chester, PA) of the Utica College men's ice hockey team were awarded with ECAC Men's West All-Conference honors for the 2006-07 season.

    Junior goalie Adam Dekker made the ECAC West All-Conference Second Team. Dekker's save percentage ranked third in the conference (.911) and he had a total of three shut outs for the Pioneers. Dekker was named the ECAC West Goalie of the Week on two separate occasions this season. Dekker, who earned first team status as a freshman, closed out the season with a 12-9-3 overall record and a 2.48 goals against average.

     Freshman forward Dave Werner and defensemen Mike Lane were named to the All-Rookie team. Werner ranked second on the team with 21 points on 11 goals and 10 assists. He was just recently named the ECAC West Rookie of the Week for the week ending February 11, 2007 and finished fifth in the conference for freshman scoring. Lane played a major role in the Pioneers nationally ranked third penalty kill defense and sixth ranked special teams. Lane also tallied 10 assists this season.

    UC ended its 2006-2007 campaign Saturday with a 2-1 loss to host Neumann College in the semi-finals of the ECAC Men's West Conference Tournament. They closed out the season in third place in the conference and posted a 13-9-3 overall record. The Pioneers spent nine weeks of the season ranked in the nations' top 15 and played one of the toughest schedules in all of Division III hockey.
