UTICA, NY - The Utica College women's lacrosse team (4-8, 2-4 Empire 8) fell to Ithaca College (8-3, 4-2 Empire 8) 14-6 in Empire 8 Conference action Friday.
Ithaca got on the board first at 1:41 into the first half when freshman attacker Kylie McClure (Upper Arlington/Columbus, OH) got a shot past Utica goalie Jessica LeClerc (Deerfield Academy/Augusta, ME). LeClerc, a junior, had 12 saves on the day giving her a team-high 96 saves this season. McClure also tallied an assist on Kim Medla's (Brewster/Brewster) second goal of the game coming at 5:57 of the first. Medla's first goal was unassisted.
Sophomore attacker Becky Bedard (East Longmeadow/East Longmeadow, MA), senior midfielder Asti Kutzer (Mount Anthony Union/Pownal, VT), and junior midfielder Sarah Knauf (Irondequoit/Rochester) all scored for the Bombers during the first half.

Jill Doherty (Wellesley, MA/Kents Hill) (Kents/Wellesley, MA) scored at 27:02 of the first half off an assist by
Kelly Regan (/) (Massapequa/Massapequa) This was Doherty's 10th goal of the season. Junior midfielder
Casey Pelletier (/) (Mercy/Middletown, CT) also scored during the first half for the Pioneers. Junior
Laura Keating (/) (Horseheads/Whitesboro) scored the third and final goal of the first half for the Pioneer's tallying her 29th point of the season.
Utica started off the second half scoring at 29:22 when Doherty tallied her second goal of the game. Pelletier later scored an unassisted goal bouncing it through the legs of Ithaca goalie Lindsay Mayfield (Nichols/East Aurora) marking her team-high 25th goal of the season. Sophomore
Jackie Vicencio (/) (Miller Place/Miller Place) also tallied an unassisted goal in the second half for her 14th goal of the season.
Bedard picked up two second half assists on goals by Knauf and Sarah Cox (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls). Cox, a freshman midfielder, scored twice, while junior attacker Meagan Howell (Newark/Newark) Medla, McClure, and Kutzer tallied a goal each.
UC will return to Charles A Gaetano Stadium at 4 p.m. Saturday against visiting Elmira College for Empire 8 conference-action.
