The Hartwick College women's tennis team commanded all three doubles and six singles matches en route to a convincing 9-0 victory over arch-rival Utica, Wednesday afternoon at the Hartwick Tennis Complex.

The Hawks, 1-0 overall, won two of three doubles matches in resounding fashion. The duo of Jennifer Lin (Albany, N.Y.)/Colonie Central) and Lexi Andrus (Binghamton, N.Y./Binghamton HS) defeated Jessica Hunt and Lien Vu 8-0 at the second spot, while Rebecca Sarro (Little Falls, N.Y./Little Falls HS) and Christina Sorrentino (Sherrill, N.Y./Vernon-Verona-Sherrill HS) downed Amy Roberts and Maggie Srozcyk 8-0 at three doubles. Elizabeth Breaznell (Delmar, N.Y./Bethleham Central) and Lauren Aquino (Loudonville, N.Y./Academy of Holy Names) posted an 8-2 decision over the tandem of Kathryn Rossi and Nichole Rodriguez at the top of the lineup.

Hartwick's Kim Post (Nashua, N.H./N. Middlesex Regional) was the first off the court as the freshman registered a 6-1, 6-0 win over Angela Hulbert at six singles. Breaznell followed moments later with a 6-0, 6-0 decision over Hunt at number one, then Anne Neely (Milton, Mass.) and Joanna Rudy (Bridgeport, N.Y./Chittenango) finished simultaneously with 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1 wins at four and five singles, respectively. Linn and Aquino finished off the sweep at number two and three singles with scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-2.
