Senior classmates Katie Kutas (New York Mills/New York Mills) and Amanda McDonnell (Sagamore Beach, MA/Portsmouth Abbey) of the Utica College field hockey team were named to the 2008 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III North Atlantic Region Second team released Monday.

In 2008 Kutas started all 17 games and led the Pioneers in goals (18), points (23), and game-winning goals (three). McDonnell also started all 17 games in goal and tallied a staggering 181 saves. She also tallied seven wins, two of which were shutouts.

Kutas and McDonnell's stellar careers have left them atop the UC record books. Kutas is Utica's career leader in game-winning goals (15) and ranks second all-time in career points (97) and goals (45). Kutas had her best season in 2006. She set single season records for points per game average (2.44), goals (18), game winning goals (seven), and goals per game average (1.12). Kutas' seven game-winning goals in 2006 is also an Empire 8 record.

McDonnell is Utica's career leader in saves (372) and she ranks second in career wins (16) and shutouts (five). Her best individual season came as a senior in 2008. She shattered UC's saves record (181) and saves per game average (10.65).

The Pioneers finished the 2008 season with a 7-10 overall record.
