UC WOMEN'S HOCKEY TRAVELS TO OSWEGO FRIDAY AND SATURDAY TO CHALLENGE LAKERS

The Utica College women's ice hockey team will travel to Oswego, NY this weekend for a two-game conference series against SUNY Oswego. Friday and Saturday's games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and will be held at Campus Center Ice Arena.

The Pioneers are currently 3-2 overall and are 2-2 in the ECAC Women's West Conference. UC is in a three-way tie for second place with Plattsburgh and Neumann. The Lakers have an overall record of 1-2-3, including a 0-1-3 mark in the conference, and are presently tied for fifth with Elmira.

Utica is led by senior forward Darcy Hier (Centennial, CO/Colorado Selects) who has a team-high eight points, including seven assists. Hier is the school's active leader in assists (45) and is second in points (63) behind senior captain Lynny Gonzales (Rochester, NY/New Hampton Prep) (71).

Freshmen forward Megan Myers (Las Vegas, NV/LA Selects) is the current team leader in goals (five) and she is one point behind Hier in total points (seven). Myers scored a goal in back-to-back games this past weekend against national power RIT.

The Pioneers return home on Tuesday as they host conference rival SUNY Cortland at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m. The Red Dragons are currently 0-3-2 overall this season with a 0-2-2 mark in conference play.
