Hoboken, N.J. (11/5/2010) - The Utica College men's soccer season came to a close Friday night as the Pioneers lost to nationally-ranked No. 15 Stevens 3-0 in the semi-final contest of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament in Hoboken, N.J. The Pioneers, who made the conference tournament for the third time in four years, finished the year with a school-record 12 victories.

Stevens (13-1-3) will take on Nazareth College, which beat Elmira 3-1 in the other semi-final game, in the finals of the conference tournament on Sunday in Hoboken.

Conference player of the year Nolan Sandberg, Zach Adler and Stephen Dunbar each netted goals to pace the Ducks to a 3-0 victory.

Freshman goalie Anthony Caruso (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) made eight saves in net for the Pioneers. Senior forward Roberto Sgueglia (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) totaled a team-high three shots to pace the Pioneers.
