2010 NSCAA East All Region Teams

Roberto Sgueglia (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) and freshman forward
Trevor Hoxsie (Scarborough, ME/Scarborough) of the Utica College men's soccer team were named to the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Men's NCAA
Division III All-East Region Second Team released Wednesday.
Sgueglia led the Pioneers with a program-best 36 points (17th in the nation) this past season. He recorded 12 assists (ninth in the nation), which tied the school's single season assist record and he also finished second in program-history in goals scored with12 (63rd in the nation). Sgueglia was a Division I transfer from the University of Connecticut and is expected to graduate in May with a degree in Sociology.
Hoxsie netted eight goals, two assists and recorded 20 points for Utica in his first year. Hoxsie, who was an All-conference Second Team selection, was the only freshman named to the first or second team and is majoring in Physical Therapy.
As a team, the Pioneers made it as far as the Empire 8 Conference Tournament for the third time in four years before losing to Stevens Institute of Technology 3-0 in a semi-final matchup. The Ducks ended up advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after winning the conference title by defeating Nazareth College 1-0.
The Pioneers secured their best season in program-history with 12 wins (most wins all-time), six losses and one draw. UC also finished ranked sixth in the nation in scoring offense with 55 goals and an average of 2.89 goals per game.
